"Something's Up" In America's Big Berg
featuring
Selected Poems from The Alaska Mystery Collection
and The Tree Series
by Paula Marie Rose
Anyone want to suggest as to how could it be possible that I had a conversation about this story, and the specific title I had given it while I was in Juneau, Alaska, and several weeks later, I saw it written on the back of a vehicle while driving on the 101 freeway, near Los Angeles, California? For those who don't have a map handy; it's about a 1,800 mile gap, but SHOR NUF not too far for information to travel through the Ether. I don't know if the man who was driving that vehicle is still wearing his wedding ring, but I can describe him.
Jayoubetyou! Another coincidence, I'm sure.

May 7, 2009. I was asked for more information about "Run, Tara, Run!" and below is a brief introduction. I expect to set some teeth on edge, blood pressures to rise, and more than a few folks to experience sweaty palms.
A small yet intriguing preview, just for you.
Possibly reminiscent of the board game Clue?
Who did what to whom, what weapons they used,
and in which rooms?
Was there a splash, a flash, a crash, or a boom;
did the victims have knowledge of their impending doom?
Through the grapevine the word did spread;
who'd be in charge, and who'd be dead.
A Secret it was supposed to be;
no one understood the inner skills of little ol' me.
The large, angry man stood high above me, raging and shouting almost hysterically.
How did she know; she couldn't see! It's an impossibility!But step by step and exactly, I relayed what had happened,
so very precisely.
In the vocabulary of a child, my words did make his eyes turn wild.
What I spoke of had taken place, exactly as I had described.
His face darkened, filled with emotions he couldn't hide.
The people, places, and actions I retold,
left him feeling much less bold.
The iron, the bathtub, the electrician's tape...
A chilling story of others' fate.
