Due to my limited scientific background on topics such as cloning, experimentation on humans, genetic modifications and recreations, I've had to do some research. Pretty much anything higher level than a required 7th grade frog dissection (which was digusting enough to have to perform) is out of my knowledge base, so I extracted information from articles and history.
I have requested reprint permission for an article on CNET.com from April 23, 2000 entitled

The article states in part that the FBI was first made aware of the rumored existence of what were known as "snuff movies" back in 1974.
That was a head scratcher right there for me! And the FBI must have been late to the party.
I was 10 in 1974, and had heard the term "snuff movies" back when I was about 7 or so. Why would a hick kid in a small town be hearing about such things existing, when the FBI hadn't? It's not exactly an after school tea and cookies conversation topic in most homes, is it? HHHHmmmmmm.
Having been baptized a Catholic before I was old enough to protest being dropped into the fold against my wishes, I also attended Mass every Sunday, Holy Day, and daily during Lent as my parents insisted. I don't recall the exact Biblical references to Sodom and Gomorrah during Mass even after logging many hours in the pew of a small town church, but it sure makes a suitable name for a sausage company. From Wikipedia:

Eugenics was another topic I recall hearing about in my youth, although Hilter's Germany was long over. Not sure why such a scientific and medical term was floating into my ears in a small, remote town back in the late 60's or early 70's, but facts are facts, and I'll take advantage of such memories to give my Readers a fantastic story.

Such warped thinking about perfecting the human race wasn't limited to Hitler's Germany. Our own backyard has that same mentality and programs. Is it only History? Or are some such programs still in existence?

A link below to a detailed website which has a few of the more notable and now public cases of experimentation on humans who were exploited for the benefit of science and governments. While it may be surprising to some that parents would have allowed their children to be misused in such ways, it was not an uncommon event, and was apparently widespread, especially in isolated pockets of the USA. I'm much more curious as to the what the payoffs were. Government money for a new school? Someone keeping their job? A promotion? A bank loan for a new boat? As the saying goes: Follow the money.
Alaska Natives were specifically targeted in one study reported in the following announcement by the National Academy of Science.

The Human Trafficking Project is a New York based organization which aims to raise the awareness of modern day slavery. Prominently featured on their home page is the story of an Anchorage man who was convicted in 2008 for trafficking sex and drugs. Surprisingly, this article states it was the first sex trafficking trial held in Alaska. That doesn't sound correct to me; sex and drugs have been in Alaska longer than I was. Surely some others were pulling the same gigs in decades prior? Of course, someone has to care enough to prosecute, and not be on the more profitable side of the trade.

Introducing Prius Anderson! She's one tough cookie and not easily deterred. She may remind you of Paula Marie Rose, Madame Curie, or your Aunt Suzie. So what and who cares? You'll enjoy this story.

I grew up in a closed community; perhaps mostly by the fact that it was land locked, and no roadways lead to other areas. A boat or a plane was needed to leave, and it felt very strange to me. As an adult, I enjoy living in the "Lower 48". I'm curious to know why the old Carole King song of "Corazon" from 1973 is stuck in my head; when it played on the Nothing Special Radio Local AM radio station; it moved my mom into action...Right! She dusted the furniture to the beat!
I still like this song, and I'll work it into this story. And now, with Mucho Gracias to my Spanish and Spanglish speaking friends, I know what the lyrics were saying. Very little, at first glance. And so much more. Ain't Love Grand?
