"Something's Up" In America's Big Berg
featuring
Selected Poems from The Alaska Mystery Collection
and The Tree Series
by Paula Marie Rose
Poems 42 -
My latest poems in The Tree Series. Due to the pending legal issues, and the hours I spend proving the lies and whys of others; I don't have enough spare time to maintain a relationship with the kind and handsome man that I have been dating, so I'm back on my coffee date rounds.
"Sometimes a Woman feels like a little company. And conversation." (Unknown)
Below are Poems #42 through #46. I'm sure I'll be writing more. The number fifty seems to be familiar...

grew larger in Alaska, just like me.
Whose sitting Governor was selected to be
on the Republican ticket for VP?
Currently she is the chosen GOP nominee,
whose high profile life has gained much scrutiny.
The political world has become interesting to me of late,
share your viewpoints, email your reply to start a debate.
Some of you might have had a guess
who wrote this ad,
and know the color of my dress.
Many are interested in me,
it seems to be.
By the numbers of readers who visit my website
and leave their IP.
From both US shores, Alaska to DC,
and many areas internationally,
there is much interest in who I am, and what I write.
Another Woman from the land of many a long winter night,
who speaks the truth, seeks to turn things around and make them right?
What a coincidence that must be!
The possible VP and I are both the age of 44,
read "Frozen Fiefdom" online
to learn much more.
The Big Berg has a dark history to hide,
things which weren't spoken of by either side.
Read the information, decide in your own mind,
who did wrong, who committed which crime?
If I have it all wrong,
do reply and send the name of your song.
Send me a comment, have your say!
Cast your vote well on Election Day.
SWF, tall, fit, black hair, blue/green eyes, some say "beautiful," challenges your mind. a.k.a. The "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress"

once did encircle me,
and now predictably, and fortunately,
the Fall season is upping your chances!
Winds of Change have passed through;
might my new RoMANce be you?
Out of the L.A. dating pool I was;
time for a change, for the air is abuzz.
Do you know of Politics, and Governments;
the many flies, and countless lies?
Who lives, and who dies?
To some of you it's not a surprise,
to read new words from me, with your very own eyes.
Are you an attorney, on the quest and journey,
to uncover truth?
Shall we meet in a phone booth?
Secret Service, DIA,
Homeland Security, or CIA?
I'll bet you have a few words to say.
Let's get it on! Have it your way.
Today I'm wearing my dress of Black,
some of you recognize my writing style, in fact.
Others of you shake your head in dismay;
saying aloud, "She won't go away!"
Afternoons, or when it's late,
we might want to have a coffee date.
No matter if one or the other appeals,
I'll arrive wearing my high heels.
Write to me, tell me something about you;
what you enjoy, and what you do.
If you are tall, have dark hair, and fair skin;
open your inbox, reply to me within.
My preference is for a man who is intelligent, kind, wise, and fit,
cannot have a bad attitude, or be a nitwit.
Stats on me are described accurately below;
some of you have seen me, and do know.

Leaf once suggested to me
that I read a particular book.
"You'll enjoy it immensely." he said with a wide grin,
as he gave me a peculiar look.
By Tom Robbins, an author of reknown, it was;
humorous, intriguing, full of intelligent and witty buzz.
"Still Life With Woodpecker" is a fun read,
I read it twice, and the storyline planted a seed.
From the Southeast Alaska Rain Forest I do hail;
knowledgeable, charming, some say mysterious, and a bit pale.
Our current GOP VP Nominee, has absolutely no resemblance to me.
A naughty librarian look some say she has, an attractive woman with an agenda to move.
I have traveled more extensively than she,
flown over some oceans, crossed the waters, sailed at sea.
Alaska holds much from the days of old,
when people were fewer, and did as told.
Did a Tree in the forest speak to me?
Or a star from the sky fall to Earth near me?
Is it something I know of, was told, or did see?
Are you from Egypt, Italy, Greece, or a place far away?
Write back to me on this very day;
if you are Tall, dark haired, handsome, possess a dry sense of humor,
and feel that the connection is right.
Perhaps we'll meet for coffee date one afternoon very soon, or a weekday night.
Today is the first day of Fall,
what an opportunity to share with the Woman who "has it all."

this isn't about you; it's only about me! Selfish I appear to be, until you meet and speak to me. From Alaska I am, you shall learn; a place where you might get a sunburn, but not from the area I am from; in Southeast Alaska, we rarely see the sun.
So much mystery I do see, with only single vision through my eyes to see. If you know more than I do; share it with me and we'll see it through.

POEM # 46 |
The Tree Did Sway, The Branches Did Bend, - 44 (SFV)
Another day began, at Midnight it shall end.
A Leaf did flutter to the ground, sighing a whispered sputter on the way down.
The Wind rushed by, lifting it high; the Leaf rose into the air, and landed elsewhere.
A Beagle did bray, far away from L.A.;
from the Frozen Fiefdom of AK.
He objects to what I write, and twists those words and what I say.
Noisy he is, loud and long; like a Jackass singing his own song.
Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.
Both are Rights; that's fact, not a guess.
The ink is Black, as is my Dress.
A Man who thinks and believes as I do;
would enjoy spending time with me, it's true.
If you are tall, have dark hair, and a quick mind
send a reply, and tell me your Sign.
Must be intelligent, honest, and kind,
be fully single, unattached, and straight.
Perhaps we'll share a coffee date.

into the Autumn.
Some land on their feet, or bottom.
Another season will soon begin;
it's time for another game of ball,
in the season known as Fall.
If you are kind, handsome, tall, and fit,
single, dependent free, with good humor and wit,
we might have good reason to meet.
Perhaps we've passed as strangers on the street?
If you are between 42 and 52, charming, successful, and upbeat;
like camping, walking, mysteries, and places off beat,
reply to me what interests you.
We both might learn a thing, or two.
SWF, tall, blue/green eyes.
My description to some will be no surprise!

#48 Deciduous Trees have multi colored Leaves
!0 -23 -10 (but not visible on Craigslist, due to ?????)
Many that sway in the wind and breeze.
Some live in warmer climes, others where it may freeze.
Some are red, others are yellow,
As different as a hot tempered guy, or a mellow fellow.
Several are green, none are mean.
Some are brown, as they are dropped to the ground.
My eyes do find many which please,
a few make me smile, some appear to almost sneeze.
At least one blew in from overseas;
from the far West, perhaps from Russia, I believe.
It's difficult to say; so many Trees have similar leaves.
October winds have come and gone,
November is here, on schedule and predictable as a New Dawn.
Some Leaves are dull and make me yawn,
others are watchful and quiet, like a well hidden fawn.
Previous Autumns brought piles of leaves within my view,
some were mature, some were new.
All had words and terms to skew,
all were colorful, and varied in hue.
Leaves can please their respective Trees,
it's been a rather quiet year, I hear.
Perhaps it's time to look around,
shake a few Branches, swirl the piles around?
Spruce, Oak, Walnut, or Beech?
You're not a Goose, nor an I a Peach.
A lovely walk on a sandy beach,
a stroll in the forest, or walk and talk on a busy sidewalk?
Many Trees provide nice shade,
other times, they form a heavy barricade.
If these words have some meaning for you,
it could be that you know something too.
With a rake I move leaves into piles,
some are as puzzling as Mah Jong tiles.
Some Leaves travel many miles;, using different forms, and specific styles.
I greet them all with many smiles...
If you are tall, dark haired, intelligent and kind,
we might have a meeting of our minds.
Single, no dependents, financially secure, reasonably fit,
a dry sense of humor, great wit, 44 to 53, and that's it!
Please reply with a few interesting words,
and your name. To some of you, I'm known as "Jane".

it seems to me,
has no sense of humor.
My keen sense of insight knows that's no rumor.
A rhyme about Trees and Leaves I recently wrote,
seems to have been caught by an angry old Billy goat.
Censorship of one's creative writing is like strangling an open throat,
or drilling many holes to sink a sturdy boat.
If you can read my words just fine, send me your comments,
feel free to opine.
If my rhyme of Deciduous Trees is published on CL,
you'll know it's mine, like the tolling of a bell.
And if not, Oh Well.
You might find me interesting, and have something to tell.
If you are tall, dark haired, intelligent, and kind,
financially successful, fun loving, witty,
and dependent free,
single, divorced, or widowed,
between the ages of 44 and 53;
do write a reply to me.
I'm a SWF, tall, black hair, blue/green eyes, and fairly pleasing to the eyes;
perhaps better than described?
Surely that would be a pleasant surprise...

Well, ya can't win 'em all; as the old saying goes. I was in a writing mood today, and am always seeking information, or Dirt for the Database as they say in FedSpeak, so I wrote and published this ad on Craigslist. It was Flagged and bagged within the first hour, but about a dozen or so sent replies. I haven't replied to any as yet, as none seemed to strike the right chord, other than one who sent a video clip of Orsen Wells clapping slowly.
